Nhleko clan's support for Phuthuma
When one of your own is accused of corruption, you either keep quiet with the hope that the truth will prevail in the end or come out with guns blazing in defence of that individual. Fortunately those of us who are part of the extended Nhleko clan believe in the integrity and business acumen of Phuthuma. Thus when the MTN Iran licence allegations surfaced few months back, we never saw a need to respond to such allegations levelled against one of our own. However, our failure to respond should not be interpreted as a lack of support, trust and believe in Phuthuma. As a family, we never issued any statements to gloat about his achievements while he was the Group CEO of MTN, and we will not start now to comment about his professional life. The only bold thing we can say is that, Phuthuma continues to enjoy unwavering support from the Nhleko clan at large. We know his integrity better than his professional colleagues as well as the public and in saying so, we are not blinded by the fact that he is one of our own but by the ways in which he was brought up, the sense of integrity and discipline instilled in him throughout his life.

South Africa Today
When those who were previously adavantaged during apartheid are accused of wrong doing or corruption, they are innocent until proven guilty. However, previously disadvantaged South Africans are guilty until proven innocent. That's how SA's forth estate reports corruption stories. You have to look at the #Breytenbach case, the media is trying hard to difflect attention away from her transgressions, and because she can afford expensive and top lawyers, she might get away with "murder". Who are we to question the media's impartiality, when they benefited from those leaks from the NPA.
